In Praise of Mamacita
It's Monday. You know what that means here at Mommybloggers...a new featured blogger! This week's blogger is none other than the one and only Mamacita! Insightful. Genuine. Loving. Caring. With her sense of humor and frontier mama, can-do work ethic, she is a true original. From her tales of classroom battles to her fond and often hilarious stories about her friends and family, Mamacita calls it as she sees it...and what a view!
No matter what her topic is, you leave Scheiss Weekly with a smile on your face. We'd like to take credit for finding her on our own, but the truth is, Mamacita found each of us. Her witty comments and genuine interest in our individual blogs led us back to Scheiss Weekly. Once we discovered her writing, it has proven impossible to break free of her tractor beam.
Her many fans were delighted to answer our call for Mamacita testimonials and we were overwhelmed with the response. We wanted to share all of them, but there is no way we could. Without a doubt, our suspicions were confirmed: Mamacita is a well-admired blogger, and with good reason. But enough about what we think about her. This is what a few of her readers had to share with about her:
MommaK decided to cut straight to the proposal:
If I were to pick one word to describe Mamacita it would be wise. She is an amazing "can do it all" woman with a sense of humor to boot and she can cook...Mamacita, will you marry me?
When we asked Scotty, he was thrilled to tell us more:
I would love to talk about Mamacita. She lives right here in my hometown and we have actually met for lunch and dinner a couple of times. Mamacita has ben an inspiration to me in bloggerland. I found her when a friend told me I should check her out because she lived close by. She has been through so much but is still loving and caring and one of the most giving people I know. She offered me free holly from her holly bush and has offered to fix dinner for me and my partner. I read her blog daily because she makes me laugh and makes me strive to be a better parent. She is totally devoted to keep ing her kids happy even though they are grown and I respect her for it! She deserves any recognition she can get!WF gave us even more insight into the way Mamacita changes lives:
Mamacita was my eighth grade English teacher and is still one of my closest friends. Mamacita saved my life, both literally and figuratively. Mamacita showed me that I could be more than just another southern Indiana farm boy. Every time I step in front of a class (I teach college), Mamacita is there. I cannot thank her enough.
A new reader, MistressMary, was full of praise :
She is funny, kind, and unapologetically opinionated. Oh, and an excellent writer.
Hula Doula shared how her friendship with Mamacita developed:
When I started blogging a year ago I never realized that I would make such personal contacts. One of those personal contacts is my dear friend Mamacita. When she first started visiting my blog I felt drawn to her comments. A genuine spirit poured from her caring words. I started reading her blog and was hooked. The thing I love about Mamacita is witty playful way with words. Her love for education and her love of reading is contagious. Just ask my 8 year old! When she came for a visit this last year we were blessed to meet the brilliance behind the words. I learned her love for a good cheese burger! She is a gracious and loving person. She is truly a gift.
Chasmyn summed it up nicely, with this glowing praise of Mamacita:
Mamacita is more than a talented, articulate blogger. Mamacita is a generous, loving, compassionate person with great taste in music! And she is someone I consider a friend. She has a great heart, a wonderful sense of humor and a genuine interest in the people in her life - which doesn't just include the people who are physically in her life. It includes her friends in the computer as well. I am so happy to include Mamacita among my friends; my life is truly enriched by her.
These are just a few of the things Mamacita's readers had to say about her. We wish we could feature every comment. But, we know you want to hear from Mamacita herself. Be sure to check back here later today for our interview with her.
