In Praise of Izzymom
To end our week here at Mommybloggers, we are thrilled to bring to you the amazing Izzy of Izzymom as well as Izzy Graphics and Cool Mom Picks! To meet her is to adore her. She has a warmth about her that draws you in immediately. In her own words: "I’m a thirtysomething work-at-home mom of two young children. Married to computer god/music producer. Resident concierge & butler to two cats. I was a graphic designer/corporate slave in my previous life. Now I practice bad housekeeping, wipe butts and work at home as a webmaster & graphic designer (need blog design help?) This gig is definitely a labor of love." By her many fans, she has been called everything from inspiring to funny and passionate. She is the type of blogger you cannot wait to see if she has updated her blog yet and the type of woman you really want to make your personal friend. (We know! We did it ourselves!) Her humor will draw you in, but her honesty and amazing writing will keep you coming back for more. The readers of her blog Izzymom are a very loyal (and gushing) group! Having met her, we could go on for days telling you why we have a crush on her (some of it does have to do with those amazing bangs!), but we would rather let you hear from her other fans themselves.
Kristen from Motherhooduncensored immediately responded when she heard we were featuring Izzymom. With excitement she told us:
Izzy was the first official mommy blogger that visited my blog and blogrolled me. She's not only an amazing blogger, but a great friend as well - always helping me out with crazy logo, candy bar, button requests when I know she's extremely busy running after her crazy adorable children. My favorite thing about Izzy is that she is agendaless and totally free to be and write whatever and however she pleases without feeling the pressure to be or act a certain way. It's refreshing and inspiring.
Mary Tsao of Mom Writes had no problem sharing with us how she feels about Izzy and her rockstar status:
Izzymom is a blogger that I learned about through the BlogHer ad network. She's a great writer and I feel that we have a lot in common. Not a necessity, but a very cool thing indeed. Also, she has the coolest bangs I've ever come across. She's one of the blogging rock stars, for sure. Thanks for featuring her!
Catherine of Her Bad Mother had a hard time keeping her gush level down to a mere leaping and bowing to Izzy in her amazing gushfest to this incredible blogger:
How could I not gush?!Ah, Izzy, glorious Izzy. When I discovered Izzy’s blog I fell in love with her instantly: she’s smart and funny and passionate and funny and kind – and did I say funny? And passionate? And smart? I read her blog, and I wanted to be her friend, so I stalked her: I left comments on every post with proclamations of my love and admiration. And Izzy, dear Izzy, always responded to my slobbery comments with a funny remark and so I fell further in love. But what’s not to love? That she is a lovely, lovely human being is clear from every one of her posts.
And? She’s gorgeous.
If you are just meeting Izzy for the first time, prepare to fall hopelessly in love.
(gush gush gush gush!!!)
jennster could barely sit still long enough for us to get any intelligible words about Izzy from her, but she managed beautifully to express her adoration:
omgosh! IZZY! what an honor!!!!! i love her! i love izzy so much because even before i met her in person, i was addicted to her blog. she comes across so real and so smart- and so down to earth. she is an extremely talented designer and i adore seeing her "made by izzy" graphics all over blogland. i had the pleasure of getting to meet izzy in person at blogher and she is far more than i ever thought she would be. reading her blog is even more personal to me now that i've met her and realized how freaking awesome she is in real life!!! if you aren't reading izzy's blog, you should be! she is one of the best out there! :)
Barely in under the wire, Sarah of Sarah and the Goon Squad just had to add her two cents about her appreciation for Izzy:
I just started reading IzzyMom a couple of weeks ago when she did her BlogMe interview on "A Mommy Story". I had the privilege of meeting her at BlogHer and besides just being beautiful on the outside she is beautiful on the inside. I love her honesty and the fact that she isn't afraid to laugh at herself.
Kelly of mochamomma had praise we just could not resist adding here at the end. (Complete with an awesome link to a beautiful picture of Izzy!):
Izzy and I met this year at BlogHer and I had only seen her name around on other blogs but she was ON MY LIST of people to read. I could kick myself that it took so long. Have you read this woman? Have you seen her writing? She's quite succint and to the point in her posts with an intellectual air. However, there is nothing about her that says, "Don't approach me." Oh, no no no. She's real. A real woman. A woman with talents we envy and whose looks just about push us over the edge.I took a picture of at BlogHer of her and it is here on my Flickr account. That picture of her is phenomenal and it's due to her inner beauty, her humility, and the ways she holds herself. She's gorgeous inside and out.
Join us this afternoon as we share our interview with incredible Izzy of Izzymom!

DUDE! What happened to my praise for Izzy? I'll offer it again HERE:
I LOVE IZZY. Love love love love love.
I love her frank and honest writing, I love the support and encouragement she gives others, and I love how much f#$%ing fun she is!
What struck me most about Izzy at BlogHer was that she seemed to be everywhere at once, but she gave her undivided attention to whomever she was with. She is one of those rare people around whom others gather and feel welcomed.

I'm so jealous I didn't get to comment about Izzy for this post!! Kristen at CMP recommended Izzy to me for my blog design a few months ago, and ever since then...I'm hooked with her blog.
I get all insecure reading her blog b/c her writing is brilliant and so funny!
Thanks for the awesome design Izzy! And you are so "purdy"!!

Lovely job describing the GushFest that goes along with meeting Izzy. She's fantastic in so many ways and it's great to see her highlighted here.
Can you appeal to her to give the name of her hairdresser? Who knew we all wanted those bangs?

It made me cry to read this. I don't think anybody has ever said such nice things about me before. I'm going to print this page out and save it forever. You all are the very best and I'm lucky to know such wonderful people.
And thank you to the amazing and fantabulous ladies of Mommybloggers for giving me the opportunity to be here and feel this great.
{{hugs}}
